DEPARTMENT CONVENTION: Department Convention is still moving forward, but due to Covid-19, the hotel and event spaces will only be operating at 50% capacity. The Convention will also be streamed via Zoom for those unable to attend in person, or for those who do not feel comfortable joining in person because of Covid. The restaurant will also be operating at a very limited capacity, so either bring food, or plan to eat offsite in the event you are unable to eat at the hotel restaurant. Due to renovations at the Holiday Inn, there will only be one hospitality room, and that will be the Department hosted hospitality room. Finally, we are REQUIRED to follow all Covid protocols in place by the State of Michigan, this includes wearing masks and social distancing. Further, release of liability waivers will be required to be signed by everyone attending in person at the Convention. The Testimonial Dinner is still tentatively being planned, but the details of this are yet to be finalized. Additional information will be forthcoming. VTS will be hosted on the Sunday of Convention, 6 June 2021, from 9 AM - 12 PM. Training topics to be covered will be: Inspections, VOD/PP, Website, and Social Media
DELEGATE REGISTRATIONS FOR CONVENTION: Delegate forms have been mailed to all post quartermasters. The delegate fees must be paid, regardless of whether your post plans to attend convention. These forms and fees, and any outstanding election reports, audits and quartermaster bonds must be received at the Department Headquarters by 28 May 2021.
