I
joined the United States Army Military Police Corps in December 1989, beginning
a career dedicated to discipline, security, law enforcement, and service to the
nation.
Following
enlistment, I completed Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort
McClellan, Alabama, where military police Soldiers were trained in the
fundamentals of soldiering, law enforcement, security operations, and mission
readiness.
I
later served with Headquarters and Headquarters Company at Field Station
Diogenes in Sinop, Turkey, an isolated, high-security United States Army
installation. This overseas assignment reflected the trust placed in Military
Police personnel to protect sensitive facilities, enforce standards, and
support critical security missions in demanding environments.
Through
this service, I earned eligibility for membership in the Veterans of Foreign
Wars, recognizing honorable service performed in support of U.S. military
operations overseas.
In
2006, I joined the ranks of the Veterans of Foreign Wars as a Life Member and have
continued to demonstrate a lasting commitment to veterans, community service,
and patriotic leadership. Most recently, I became a Gold Legacy Life Member,
further reflecting my dedication to preserving the mission and traditions of
the VFW.
Throughout
this service, I have held several key leadership positions at the Post level,
including Junior Vice Commander, Senior Vice Commander, Commander, Chaplain,
and Quartermaster. I also served as the Department of Michigan VFW Cancer
Director from 2024 to 2026, supporting the organization’s efforts to assist
veterans and families affected by cancer.
I
have been married to my husband, Scott, for 35 years. Together, we have two
sons, Russell and Benjamin, who are currently serving with the South Carolina
National Guard and are deployed to the Middle East, continuing the family’s
proud tradition of military service.
I
am honored to continue to serve alongside so many men and women who care for
the health and well-being of our fellow veterans’ and their families.
